Randy Petalcorin defeats Walter Tello for the WBA interim world title!
A fantastic win for filipino light flyweight Randy Petalcorin (22-1-1, 17 KOs) who has claimed the WBA interim light flyweight title against Walter Tello at thee Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, 26th August! Randy dominated the fight, with a charged right hook, & brutal left uppercut ending the bout in the seventh round! A much deserved win!
The Australia Combat Sports Unit registered boxer and Australia top rated Petalcorin won every round on the scorecards.
“Randy stepped up tonight to KO Tello in seven rounds and he has the talent and ability to be the premier boxer in the light flyweight division,” said Manager Peter Maniatis.
“A new champion is born: his name is Randy Petalcorin,” said Petalcorin’s promoter Jim Claude Manangquil, who says promoter Top Rank has discussed a possible defense in January.
Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao was ringside for the Top Rank-promoted card along with boxing legend Freddie Roach and Bob Arum and everyone agreed that a new star is born for world boxing with the 22-year-old Petalcorin.
